Here's a QUICK recap of our Halloween! The first couple of pictures were taken Halloween night at our house. We always have everyone over to trick-or-treat, eat, eat and eat. Our neighborhood is a crazy place on Halloween. You can barely make your way through. We had our last trick-or-treater at 10:15! Hudson had a lot of fun in his chicken costume. Talk about cute! He'd already sweated his way out of it in the picture below. Preston decided not to dress up this year. I mean, he is 11 and in the 6th grade. (that's what he said, by the way) So, he went from wearing a costume one year to inviting a "girlfriend" over the next. That's Savanna in the picture with him. She's a real sweet girl. Hard to believe my baby is growing up. Not so sure I like this stage in the process....but, I guess it's just part of it.
Anyway, I hope everyone had a fun Halloween. Hopefully this is the first step to getting back on the blogging train. =)

The pictures below were taken at the Fall Festival at work. Several people said if there had been a costume contest, my little chicken would have won hands down. (I have to agree!) =)

Just a quick note to say I KNOW I HAVEN'T BLOGGED IN AN EXTRA LONG TIME. And I feel terrible about it. The Campbell house is just a busy busy place these days. I'm busy. Alan is busy. Preston is busy. Hudson is beyond busy. So, don't give up on me just yet. I promise to get back in the swing of things real soon. My camera is overflowing with lots of cute pictures.

The Galleria Riverside has a new vendor and M & Co. is open for business! I still can't believe it.
Those of you that know me well know this is something I've wanted to do for a loooooong time, so I'm pretty excited about it. It should be a piece of cake with two children and a full time job, right? We'll see. =)
Anyway, I just wanted to share the good news. And, I want to say thank you to Alan for supporting me in this crazy adventure. He's the best assistant =) a girl could ask for. Thanks to Preston and Hudson for letting their Mama work on all this stuff EVERY weekend since this crazy idea became a reality (and still loving me in the process). Thanks to Mimi for watching the little man every day (and even on her day off today!) so I could get this little place up and running. Thanks to Janet for coming today to help me tag, price and stage (I'd still be there if she hadn't shown up). Thanks to Uncle Jeffrey for painting the booth....I called one day and it was done the next! Thanks to Tasha for designing my super cute logo! And, a GREAT BIG, SUPER HUGE THANKS to Papa for being the handiest man I know. That dude could win a medal for his skills with a drill, some screws and an excessive amount of stuff to hang! Thanks so much to each of you.

One more thing before I go. Say a little prayer for my biggest boy tonight. He has a small case of U.K.S. (Uncle Keith Syndrome). He has a severely injured (possibly broken) pinkie finger....an injury he got at the tournament today after getting nailed in the hand during an at bat in the championship game. It looks bad, but I know it feels even worse. And of course, it's his left hand which means typing, baseball and golf just became a little bit harder. So, please keep the sweet boy in your thoughts and prayers and I'll keep you posted on the diagnosis.

Friday was our niece, Chandler's birthday. Unfortunately, I've been so wrapped up with a million other things (baby, 11 year old, middle school, work, booth, regular old day to day stuff, husband....the list goes on and on....) that I totally let Chandler's birthday slip by without posting anything on the blog. I can honestly say this is not a mistake I make very often and I feel terrible about it.
So, Chandler, please accept this as my apology and very happy belated birthday wish from the 4 of us! I hope you know we love ya whether I said it on the blog Friday or not!

Hudson is 1! Can you believe it? This cute thing is growing so fast and he just shouldn't be a year old already! We celebrated his first year last night and we had the BEST best time at his birthday party! I think the little man had more fun than anybody! He walked around, played and visited with everyone all night! And, as you can see, he ate LOTS of birthday cake (enough to need a bath and a wardrobe change)! He got so many nice things....toys, clothes, pajamas, books, movies, trucks, savings bonds, monogrammed tableware, things for the pool....you name it.....he got it! Thanks so much everyone! He even enjoyed his first hot dog and some baked beans! We've got a growing boy on our hands with an even quicker growing appetite!

By the way, the cute little onesies that Hudson is wearing came from two little shops on ETSY. The one that matched his cake is from makmay designs and the one with the party hat is from seven cupcakes. I HIGHLY recommend either of these shops if you need a really cute, custom outfit for a special little boy or girl! And, they were super nice to work with. I will definitely order from these sweet ladies again! And, I can't go with saying that Columbus Corner Bakery rocks! Is that not the cutest cake ever?!?! I squealed out loud when I saw them. Those girls are cake baking rock stars!

I hope y'all enjoy the pictures from little man's party. It's quite a few, but it's only about 1/3 of the 183 that we took! What can I say? I'm a picture fool. =)

P.S. Just so y'all don't think I'm totally crazy, the little monkey is wearing the first onesie I ordered for Hudson that was too small! I hated to let it go to waste, so we dressed our little friend for the party.

BRMS became part of the Campbell family today. I still can't believe that my baby boy is now in the 6th grade. I've had a pit in my stomach since we left registration Monday night. The entire thing makes me a little nauseous....homeroom, changing classes, lockers, girls. Did I mention girls? I can handle most with ease, over time, but I'm just not ready for one of these. Say a little prayer for this Mama over the next few weeks. I've got a lot of adjusting to do.

In the meantime, take a look at the handsome boy all ready for the big day. He makes me so proud.

Sorry its been so long since I've posted. Between school starting, work, the booth, the BIG birthday quickly approaching, and our regular, everyday life, there just isn't a lot of time left in my days. Well, we got ANOTHER cute and sweet baby boy added to our family today! Miles is here and he, Mom and Dad are doing great. What a blessing babies are! He has a HEAD FULL of dark hair as you can see below. He's cute and cuddly and we love him already.

Hudson is 11 months old!

Just typing that makes me feel weird inside. I CANNOT believe this sweet baby boy will be a year old in ONE month. How can someone that we did without for 10 years seem like they've been here for a lifetime in 11 short months?

Hudson, the joy you have brought to our little family is indescribable. You are one precious baby boy and you bring a happiness to our lives that everyone should be lucky enough to experience. Between you and your big brother, there are days that I wonder how me and Dad got so lucky.

As each month passes us by, you continue to learn new things about this world. You've learned that Teddy Grahams and Nilla Wafers are quite tasty; you've learned that taking rides through the neighborhood in our tricked out golf cart is super fun; you've learned that cutting those dog-gone teeth is a pain in the rear; and best of all, you've learned that those chubby little legs of yours can do more than crawl! Yep, you've been trying your hardest to walk and it is so much fun to watch you give it your all! I have a feeling you'll be a walking machine by the time your birthday party rolls around.

Thank you for being the cute, sweet, full of personality, cuddly, smiling, blabbering, easy to love, perfectly spoiled little boy that we adore so much. It'll be a long time before you can appreciate how much everyone loves you, but there's not a day that goes by that I don't wonder what we did without you.

According to Preston, that's how hot it has been. So, we decided it was finally time to introduce the little man to our swimming pool. To avoid the risk of sunburn on that perfect little skin of his, we let him take his first dip at night. You can tell in the first picture how hot and humid it still was. I kept having to clean my camera lens before each picture! Hudson's expressions show how unsure he was about that big hole of water at first, but thankfully he warmed up to it. I think we'll have another fish on our hands in no time. As for big brother, he loves the pool enough for all of us and watching him makes me wonder why we waited so long to build that thing in the first place!
(As I'm typing this (at 10:17 pm), Preston just came in from his nightly swim with Dad and said there was a snake IN the pool. Not by the pool...not near the pool....IN the pool! He also told me it's in 2 pieces now. That's good to know.)

Well, today was Preston's 5th Grade Graduation. I still can't believe it. I have such mixed emotions about the entire thing. While we are EXTREMELY proud of all that he has accomplished through the years at BDMA, we are very sad that he will not ever go to school there again. Being a BDMA student has been a blessing for Preston, but being the parent of a BDMA student is an even bigger blessing. With very few exceptions, we have had wonderful experiences year after year. He learned something new every day and did it in a safe, caring environment. As parents, we can't ask for more than that. We have all been truly blessed {and spoiled} by this wonderful school and all that it has to offer. Although we are sad that Preston has his very last day tomorrow, we are comforted by two things.
{1} Preston is more than prepared for middle school and the challenges ahead of him.
{2} We have another cute little booger that will be roaming the BDMA halls in a few short years!

Field Day Fun...

Today was Preston's last Field Day at BD. That makes this Mom really sad. This is just another reminder that my boy is growing up. Seems like just yesterday he was starting Kindergarten at Britt David, having the time of his life in Mrs. Jones class and experiencing his very first Field Day activities. Now we find ourselves 8 days away from his 5th grade graduation and 3 months away from middle school. Oh my. That puts a lump in my throat.

Here are just a few pictures of our day. And, this was the first time it wasn't just me, Alan and Preston! The little man added a lot of fun to the mix and we can't wait to be back at BD running around at Field Day with him. {Preston will be in the 10th grade by then. Oh my. That puts an even bigger lump in my throat.}

We can't believe ANOTHER month is already gone.

The little man is 3/4 of the way to his 1st birthday.

WOW...that's exiciting! And, those of you that

know me know I've been thinking about his birthday

party for the past 7 weeks.

I'm leaning towards a circus or carnival theme and

I only have 3 months to finalize everything...

I better get busy!

Yep...Preston hit his first A-Ball homerun today! The game started, he was the first at bat, he swung at the first pictch and there it went. As soon as he hit it, we heard someone behind us saying "that's up and away and outta here!" It was so exciting! We had a lot of fun on Preston's birthday. The day started with a quick breakfast before the boys headed over to Mimi's so Mom and Dad could get everything ready for the surprise birthday dinner. Preston finally decided to have another pool party for his "official" birthday celebration. So, once the weather warms up we'll be celebrating again. The boy knows how to get the most out of a birthday! He's officially 11 now, so I better post these photos as a reminder... he'll be 12 before we know it! =(

No, you do not have your days mixed up.

It is only April 7th and this post is a day early!

We have another big day in the Campbell house

tomorrow and I want to be sure the real birthday

boy gets all the bloggy attention!

As for Mr. Hudson, he is less than 24 hours away

from being 8 months old! Gosh ya'll....where are

the days going?!?! Our baby is growing like a weed

and I feel like I will just blink my eyes and he

will be another month old.

We had another very exciting month!

Hudson got his top two teeth and he started

really crawling! He'd been putting forth a good effort

for quite some time, so of course he decided

to do the real thing when I was out of town.

Thankfully, Dad got him on video and I

was able to see it before I got home.

And, it seems Hudson thinks crawling doesn't

keep us on our toes enough...so, the little booger is

trying to stand up in his bed. If I hadn't been in his

room a few days ago, I'm afraid to say he probably

would have taken a nice little tumble.

{Thank goodness for paranoid parents!}

Anyway, all is good with the little man.

He's as cute and sweet as ever.

If we could only get him back on the

right sleeping track at night!

I've been in Peachtree City this week for a class. For a homebody like me, 3 nights away from home is a big deal. While I missed the luxuries of my own home and all the wonderful things about it, that didn't compare to being away from my family. For the record....I CAN'T STAND TO BE AWAY FROM MY FAMILY. They had Mimi to take care of them, but honestly, I really hope she didn't compare to me. I hope you know what I mean by that, Mimi! I just like being the person that takes care of them....making lunch, doing laundry, going to ball games, changing dirty diapers, getting spit up on, cooking dinner, loading the dishwasher...and everything in between.

I learned a lot about being a leader this week, but the truth is....

Mom goes out of town for the week and Hudson decides to start crawling in the forward direction. He has been able to stay on his hands and knees for a while now but could not move forward. We have even seen him back up as he has tried to crawl. Yesterday, Mimi changed Hudson as we were getting ready for the ball game and he started to crawl. He didn't have any clothes on and was able to move pretty good. There is a lot of "him" to move and that might explain why it has taken so long for him to get it going. I hope that Mom can view this video before she gets to come home to see speedy live and in person.

PS: Mom comes home tomorrow night!

Michele left this morning and will be traveling for work all this week. That means that it will just be us boys at home until she returns. Preston has a ball game on Tuesday night that she will have to miss. I know that it will be tough for her to miss the ball game as it is always hard for me to miss ball games while I'm traveling. The boys and I already miss her. However, we will survive because Mimi decided to stay with us while Mom is gone to keep us straight...and fed. This will also give me the chance to see firsthand why Hudson likes to be held all the time now. (Mimi has been known to hold Hudson most of the time)

Yep, that's a 7. We can't believe it either. And, the little man had another big month.

* bottom 2 teeth are completely in

* sitting up like the biggest of big boys

* eating not one, but two containers of stage 2 food at EACH meal {hates anything green...peas and green beans literally make him gag}

* loves Cool-Whip. I mean LOVES Cool-Whip

* wants to crawl so bad....
{he's so close and I'm sure he'll be in full motion in no time...say a prayer for us and our house}

* sat in his first restaurant high-chair and took his first ride in the front of the grocery buggy
{loved both!}

* likes to sit in his bed or the pack-n-play with LOTS of toys... I can't believe he can already
entertain himself {well, sort of entertain himself...he likes to be checked on every few minutes} =)

So, yes, things are in full swing around the Campbell house, but we wouldn't want it any other way. This baby boy is such a joy to be around. We already know how much he loves us, but his expressions and "voice" have really started showing it. There is nothing better than that.

Hudson, we love you so much. You absolutely could not be cuter, sweeter or more special. You are one perfect little boy and we are thankful you are ours!

As Papa always says.... you're a keeper!

I was taking a few pictures today and I couldn't help but notice all the cute features that make Hudson the little doll baby that he is. It's not just one thing...it's several. But, I'd never be able to capture them all, so here are a few that really stand out.

There were a lot more smiles than tears, but it sure is tough to see this little guy get so upset. He got 4 more shots and we were at the doctor's office for 2 hours, so all 3 of us were almost in tears by the time we got to leave! We got another good report from Dr. Cheek. Here are a few of the highlights....

* Hudson is a graduate! He has moved up to Step 2 foods! Dr. Cheek said it is time for this boy

to start eating meats and a little bit of table food {bananas, carrots, anything we can turn to

Anyway, our boy continues to grow right in front of our eyes and just gets cuter by the day. And, he has 2 teeth now! Won't be long and he'll be eating Reese Cups, Cheez-Its and Big Texas Cinnamon Rolls with big brother. I have a feeling our grocery bill is going to put us in the poor house in a few years.

Seriously? Can you really be 5 months old already? We truly cannot believe how fast you are growing and how much you are changing each and every day. You have so quickly become the cute, cuddly, always smiling, precious little thing that we all adore and love so much.

This month was a big one! You rolled over, found your feet (which you love!), started the beginning stages of sitting up by yourself (!) and have figured out that you don't have to spit your binky out...you can actually take it out of your mouth with your own hands! You've also figured out that you have a voice and you like using it! If we don't acknowledge you the first time you try to get our attention, you just get louder and louder. Sometimes we might pretend we don't hear you, just because it is so fun listening to all the cute sounds you can make!

You experienced your first Christmas, and let me just tell you....our holidays would not have been the same without you.

Mimi continues to spoil you and you have figured out that she is an easy person to love. I've said it once and I'll say it again...you are so lucky to spend your days with her. I'm pretty sure big brother has a day or two every now and then when he wishes he was still going to Mimi's every morning. We are all lucky to have her (and Papa)!

Hudson, you are a true blessing to our little family and we are so thankful for you. Your expressions continue to be priceless and your toothless grin is the best thing ever! We love you more by the minute and are so glad that YOU are the person that made our family

Preston has been in hog heaven the past couple of weeks. Last week, he thoroughly enjoyed himself at the Columbus High baseball camp conducted by Coach Bobby Howard. Yesterday and today he attended the Northside High School Baseball Camp, conducted by Coach David Smart, the NHS baseball coach and also Preston's P.E. teacher at BD. There's nothing the boy had rather do than play baseball on a nice, sunny day with some of his best baseball buddies.

I've always heard that a chubby baby is the sign of a healthy baby.

Well, Mr. Hudson must be one healthy boy.

Check this out...

Yep...that says 19 pounds, 11 ounces! That's only in the 95th percentile for weight. :) He's 25 1/2 inches long and Dr. Cheek said he looks "just great". Once again, he was a real trooper... even after 5 more shots! He's not quite old enough to dread the doctor's office yet, but if they keep this up, Mom and Dad are going to dread it enough for all of us! I know the shots are part of it, but I sure do hate to see the little man cry. I bet he thought how can these nurses be so nice to me and then stick me so many times!?!?!

Don't you know the doctor just loved having a crazy, picture taking, blogging Mom standing over her shoulder while she checked ears, lungs, eyes, limbs and everything else in between?!

At the end of the day, all is well. Another round of shots behind him, a great report from the doctor and a 3 hour afternoon nap.

Life is good.

*Edited to add: A lot of people have been asking us if Hudson is bigger than Preston was. Well, I was looking at Preston's baby calendar tonight and there's not much difference. At 4 months, Preston was exactly the same height (25 1/2 inches) and weighed 17 pounds, 11 ounces to Hudson's 19 pounds, 11 ounces. And, the picture of Preston I had put in the calendar at this age looks exactly like Hudson. So, it looks like I may have another Preston on my hands in a few years.

I'm totally ok with that. :)

Upward Basketball 2008

Preston started his 5th Upward Basketball season last weekend. He's off to a great start! He scored 8 of 16 points at that game and 9 out of the 22 points the Blazers scored yesterday. The boy is not afraid to shoot. He even had a 3 pointer!

Our son loves sports! He's got 6 more Upward games and then it will be time for A-ball tryouts.

So much for having some time off. And, we only have 4 1/2 years before we'll have two boys running us from the gym to the baseball field!

Please forgive me...this post is 2 days late! On the 8th, we had no internet service. Thanks Mediacom. On the 9th, Preston and Hudson were both in the bed by 9:30. Mom was in bed by 9:40! That was an opportunity too good to pass up.

So, here we are on the 10th and Hudson is now 4 months and 2 days old....where in the world have the days gone?! This little man is growing each and every day. His hands are his most favorite thing. He'll take them over a chew toy (or any toy for that matter) any day of the week!

He experienced a few "firsts" this month...

First Thanksgiving....

First encounter with Santa Claus...

First experience trying to find both of our Christmas trees. I have a feeling he'll never be as cooperative doing this, ever again.

And, meeting our front yard snowman for the first time.

Hudson doesn't know it right now, but he makes even the most simple things so much fun.

Thank you, little buddy, for being such a sweet, loving boy. These past four months have been more fun than we ever dreamed and we can't wait to see what the next days, weeks and months will bring. You're such a doll baby and we love you more and more each day.

Today was our first Thanksgiving as a family of four and I just have to say...

When I saw the blog this morning, I immediately said, "How did you know how to do that"!? Preston immediately said, "I just knew how". Of course he did. He knows lots more about anything computer related than I do! Silly me to even ask the question.

Also, I woke up to this on our white board this morning. I do believe I have the sweetest 10 year old boy, EVER.

Until I saw the birthday card he and Hudson got me....

I suddenly felt really old and said, "well, that's nice", before I even opened it to see what the inside said. I opened it up and it expanded to 4 times the size of the card and had hundreds of candles on the cake. It read like this:

It's unusual for us to have an entire weekend without having to go anywhere, unless we just want to. So, since the weather was cool and it was a big football weekend, we decided to stay in.

That doesn't mean we weren't busy though! With a cuddly 3 month old and a bibliography due for a certain 5th grade boy's Social Science Fair project, we had plenty to keep us busy. Here are a few pictures from a weekend that went by way too fast!

We can't believe 3 months have passed since we brought our sweet baby boy home! You are becoming such a big boy right in front of our eyes! Your sweet personality is so precious and you are doing the cutest things. Your smiles are turning into little chuckles and your eyes light up when you get excited about something. You are too cute for words!

You also started sleeping in your own room this month! And, you're sleeping through the night! Dad and I are so glad you like the room we worked so hard on for you.

Mom went back to work this week. You have no idea how much I've missed you. You're days are spent with Mimi now, so that is the only way I was able to go back and not be worried sick about you. You don't realize it now, but you are so lucky to spend your days with her. Your big brother did it and look how sweet he turned out! I know she's loving on you like crazy.

Thank you for bringing so much joy and love to our little family in 3 short months. You're a blessing we thought we'd never have and I hope you realize one day how thankful we are that God gave you to us. You're such a sweet boy and we can't wait to see what sweet, cute and funny things you will do over the next 3 months.

Pig Fest

Me and the boys joined Mimi and Papa for the short ride to Richland, Georgia to spend some time with Maddie at the Annual Pig Fest today. Her dad, Jason, and several others were participating in the BBQ grilling contest. The weather was great as we enjoyed ribs, vinegar fries, funnel cakes, rides and and each others company. We even brought some "chicken on a stick" home for Dad since he stayed home to watch the Georgia game and cut the grass.

Preston officially ended his season with the Bat Breakers on Sunday night. The team enjoyed an end of the season party that included dinner, a very entertaining game against the Dads, and a bobble head trophy! The season was fun, but we are looking forward to some time away from the ball field before Spring ball starts. And, we are off to the gym for Upward Basketball!

Here's the deal. Preston has decided to let his hair get much longer than me or his Dad like it to be. While he's still handsome, the longer locks just don't do it for me. Hudson attended his first wedding with Mom, Mimi and Papa tonight. My cousin, Elizabeth got married at Oakhurst Farm in West Point. She looked fantastic and the weather couldn't have been more perfect for an outdoor wedding. She had the cutest flower girls (her daughters, Gracie and Maggie) and junior bridesmaid (our niece, Maddie) I'd ever seen.
We sat on the very back row...so I could make a quick exit if the little man started acting up. =) I'm proud to say we were able to stay for the entire ceremony. In fact, Hudson giggled the entire time. Mimi, Papa and I got so cracked up at him. I think he may turn out to be the clown in the family!
